Have you seen Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth?"

Last night, I saw "An Inconvenient Truth,"
Al Gore's brilliant attempt to educate the public
and raise awareness about the seriousness of global warming
and what we can do about it.

Please see it, if you haven't already.
And here are some things you can do
to do your part:

1. Replace a regular incandescent light bulb with a compact fluorescent light bulb (cfl)
2. Move your thermostat down 2° in winter and up 2° in summer
3. Clean or replace filters on your furnace and air conditioner
4. Choose energy efficient appliances when making new purchases (look for the EnergyStar label)
5. Unplug electronics from the wall when you’re not using them
6. Use less hot water

I saw the film recently and agree that it is powerful and eye-opening. Most people I talk to are skeptical about the seriousness of the problem. Do any of your techiques or tactics apply here?

In addition to the tips you've listed, I would add:

Start thinking about buying a hybrid car.

I recently saw the film and thought that Al Gore is a marketing GENIUS and a passionate being!
He is getting out there in front of thousands of people, expressing his commitments to our planet and to the people, really being passionate about Global Warming, educating us on what we don't know unless we take the time to learn (basically creating the convenience) and ALL before the elections - very clever!.
